La Mesa’s 14 beautiful parks truly make this city the Jewel of the Hills.
All family-friendly, these parks offer many amenities including barbecues, picnic tables, tot lots, and a variety of athletic facilities. Porter Park, conveniently located close to downtown La Mesa, houses a vibrant Senior-Adult Recreation Center. From social activities to bridge and square dancing, adults and seniors gather to enjoy each other’s company and keep fit. Each summer, Harry Griffin Park, located near Grossmont High School, features a Summer Concert Series on Sunday evenings – an opportunity for families to enjoy music with their friends and neighbors.
La Mesa’s newest park project, the Seau Sports Complex, is located on the campus of Parkway Middle School. The Complex includes football, baseball and soccer fields with lights for evening sports, a snack stand, restrooms and a convenient parking lot.
Several of the City Parks are joint commitments with the La Mesa-Spring Valley School District - a demonstration of the way your City government shares taxpayer resources with other agencies that serve the people in our community.
As your councilman, Dave will continue to ensure that all city parks are maintained at a high level for the community to enjoy.
